A kindred spirit
Was fortunate enough this week to meet up with a work colleague whose writing journey is at a similar stage to my own. Like me, he has one published book out there, and like me he is part way through a second.
It was great to chat with someone in a similar position and I think we both got reassurance from sharing our problems and ideas. Should he publish in ebook as well? What do you get as part of your self-publishing package? What marketing support should I ask my traditional publisher for? All useful stuff.
We write in different genres (crime fiction for him, romantic fiction for me), but what we both agreed on is the intense feeling of pride that we both felt when our book ideas became a physical paperback we could hold in our hands and show our friends and family. We are both old enough and wise enough to realise we aren’t likely to be giving up our day jobs and becoming full time authors any time soon, but as hobbies go, it’s not a bad way to spend your free time.
Great content! Keep up the good work!
